Get your Authorize.Net API Login ID and Transaction Key

Updated October 19, 2026 in Payments and fraud

Where to find your API Login ID and make a new Transaction Key in Authorize.Net, then enter both in the Setup Wizard, Payments step.

  1. Sign in at account.authorize.net as the account owner or an administrator.
  2. Go to Account, then Security Settings, General Security Settings, API Credentials & Keys. On the newer layout, click "Switch to classic view" first, or go to Account, Settings, Security Settings, API Credentials and Keys.
  3. Copy the API Login ID.
  4. Click New Transaction Key and answer your secret question. You can leave "disable old key immediately" unticked; the old key stops working after 24 hours on its own.
  5. Copy the Transaction Key straight away. Authorize.Net shows it only once (you can always make another).

Then enter both in the Setup Wizard, Payments step.

Note: If your account has

Test Mode

switched on in Authorize.Net (Account, Settings, Test Mode), switch it off before you take real orders.
