Editing your website's pages
Change the wording of your policy and information pages, or add pages of your own, with the Pages editor. Nothing goes live until you press Publish.
Your store's policy and information pages, and any pages of your own, are all edited in one place: Content > Pages in your admin. You need to be signed in as an admin or a manager to use it.
The pages you can edit
The Pages list shows each page with its web address, its status and who edited it last:
- Privacy Policy
- Shipping & Returns
- Terms & Conditions
- Contact Us
- FAQ
- Comment Policy
- About Us
- and, under Your own pages, any pages you have added.
The status tells you what your website is showing:
- Default: the standard text.
- Draft: you have changes saved that are not live yet.
- Published: your own version is live.
Edit a page
- Open Content > Pages and press Edit next to the page.
- For a built-in page, the line at the top shows which part of the page you edit and which part the website keeps up to date for you.
- Make your changes in the Page text editor.
- Press Save draft to keep your work without changing the website.
- Press Preview to see the page as it will look, in a new tab. Only you can see the preview.
- When you are happy, press Publish. The page is live straight away, and the editor offers a View live page link.
If you change your mind about a draft, press Discard draft and the editor goes back to the live version.
Tidy the layout
Clean up layout tidies headings, lists, spacing and spelling without changing your facts or wording. You see the suggested changes side by side first and choose Keep changes or Discard. Keeping them only puts the new layout in the editor; nothing is published until you press Publish. There is a daily limit on clean ups, shown under the button.
Undo a change
Every time you publish, Trinity keeps that version. Under Published history you will find the last six, each with Preview and Restore this version. Restoring loads that version into the editor as a draft, so press Publish to make it live again.
For a built-in page, Reset to default puts the standard text back on your website straight away. Your published versions stay in Published history, so you can restore one later.
Add a page of your own
- On the Pages list, press Add a page.
- Fill in the Address (lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, for example
classes), the Title, and, if you like, a Search description of a sentence or two for Google. - Write the page in Page text, then Save draft, Preview and Publish as above.
A page needs a title and some content before it can be published. To remove one of your own pages later, open it and use Delete page.
Add a page to your menu
At the bottom of the Pages list is Menu links. Add one link per line, written as Label | Address, for example Classes | /classes. An address on your own site opens in the same tab; a full address starting with http opens in a new tab. Press Save menu links.
If a page says support needs to update it
A few stores have their own customised copy of a page. On those, the editor tells you edits will show once support updates the page. Email support@2adata.com and we will sort it out.
Still stuck? Email support@2adata.com and tell us which article you were reading.
