Stop FFL dealers showing at checkout

Updated October 19, 2026 in FFL and compliance

If a dealer no longer uses a license, has closed, or you do not want customers to pick them, switch them off:

  1. Open FFL Dealers and find the dealer.
  2. Click Edit, untick Active ("This dealer is available for customer selection"), and save.

The dealer stops showing in the checkout dealer search and stays off. Our nightly update of the ATF dealer list does not switch them back on. Tick Active again any time to bring them back.

Several dealers at once

There is no bulk switch, but you can list every location of a chain on one screen so it goes quickly.

  1. On FFL Dealers, type part of the name in Search by name, license #, city..., for example Murdoch, and click Search. Every dealer whose name contains it is listed.
  2. Click Edit on the first one, untick Active and click Save Changes.
  3. Go back to the list and repeat for each location.

A dealer you switch off drops out of the list, because it shows Active Only by default. Choose Inactive Only and click Search to see the ones you have switched off.
