Print labels and slips straight to your printers

Updated October 19, 2026 in Shipping and hazmat

Labels and packing slips can print straight to your printers without a print window, using a free program called QZ Tray. Set it up once on each computer you print from.

  1. Install QZ Tray from qz.io.
  2. Open Print Settings and click Download the setup file. Right click the file and choose Run as administrator. This tells QZ Tray to trust your store, so it stops asking you to allow each print.
  3. Refresh Print Settings. Pick your Shipping label printer, your Document printer for packing slips, and, if you have one, your 1x2 tag printer.
  4. Click Save.

Label paper

Set Label paper to match what is in your label printer:

  • 4x6 label roll for a thermal label printer.
  • 8.5x11 sheet for a regular office printer. The label prints at its real 4 by 6 inch size on the sheet instead of being stretched to fill the page.

Preview and test

Click Preview beside any printer to see, to scale on screen, exactly what will print and where on the paper. Click Test to print a test page: the black border marks the full printed area, with its size written inside, so you can measure it with a ruler.

Note: Printer choices are saved on each computer, so set them up on every computer you print from.
