What happens when an SOT is uploaded

Updated October 19, 2026 in FFL and compliance

An NFA order waits in Awaiting Current SOT until you have the receiving dealer's current SOT. It can arrive several ways, and each one moves the order on by itself:

  • the customer or dealer uploads it on the order page,
  • it arrives by email and is matched to the order,
  • you upload it on the order, or on the dealer's record in FFL Dealers (this releases every order waiting for that dealer).

What happens next depends on the order:

  • Nothing ordered from a distributor yet: the order goes back to Pending to be processed.
  • Ship to store: the order moves to Distributor (Ship to Store).
  • Already ordered from a distributor: the order stays where it is, and the SOT is emailed to the distributor against the order you already placed. It is never ordered twice.

Each step is written on the order.
