What's new in 4.0.4 (October 7, 2026): Know exactly why a checkout failed, and a complete layaway program.
Released October 7, 2026. Know exactly why a checkout failed, and a complete layaway program.
Added
- Why every checkout failed, in plain words. Abandoned Carts now shows each failed checkout with whose side it was on (the customer's bank, the customer's entry, a store setting, or the system), what happened, and what to tell the customer. A seven day summary shows the totals by side, and older failures have been sorted the same way. See Help, 6.0 Payments.
- Layaway that runs itself. Customers get emails when a layaway starts, when you receive a payment, before and on the due date, when it is past due, when it is paid in full and if it is cancelled. Customers can see their layaways and pay online from their account. When a plan is paid off the order moves into your normal order flow. See Help, 6.4 and 6.5.
- Layaway reminders and past due settings. Choose when reminders go out, how long the grace period is, and whether a plan is closed automatically after the grace period (off unless you turn it on).
- Refunds when a layaway is cancelled. The plan shows the refund due after your cancellation fee, and a button returns card payments to the card. Nothing is refunded unless you press it.
Improved
- New layaways include sales tax and shipping in the plan total and the customer agreement. Existing plans keep their totals.
- Payment trouble emails to customers now match the real reason. A customer is only told to call their bank when the bank declined the card.
- Card testing protection now also covers orders paid with two cards.
Fixed
- Credova financing updates now reach the order when Credova funds a purchase.
- Layaway is only offered online on stores whose card processor can take the deposit.
