Sending credentials to 2AData safely
Passwords, API keys and FTP logins are secrets. The safest place for them is your own Trinity admin; for anything without a field there, here is how to reach us.
Distributor passwords, API tokens, security codes, FTP and SFTP logins and payment gateway keys are all secrets. Anyone holding them can see your pricing or place orders on your account. Never send them by ordinary email or text message.
The safest way: type them into your own admin
For most distributors you do not need to send us anything. Enter the credentials yourself on the distributor's settings page:
- In your admin, open Shipping & FFL > Distributors.
- Press Configure next to the distributor.
- Enter the values and press Save Settings.
What you type there stays in your own store's database; it is not emailed to anyone. On most distributor pages, passwords and keys are stored encrypted, and once saved they show only as dots. Your Authorize.Net Transaction Key (System > Settings, Payment tab) is never shown again after you save it either.
When there is no field for it
A few values are set up by 2AData rather than typed in by you. For example:
- FTP or SFTP logins for some distributor feeds,
- API addresses some distributors give you,
- 2nd Amendment Wholesale, which does not have its own page yet,
- payment gateways other than Authorize.Net.
For these, email support@2adata.com and say what you have, without including the secret itself. Our setup team will arrange a secure way for you to get it to us.
The onboarding form on 2AData.com is for your business details. It has no credential fields, so do not paste passwords or keys into it.
What to include (no secrets)
When you contact us, this information helps. Leave out anything that does not apply, and do not guess.
