Set up eBay: the Settings tab

Updated October 22, 2026 in GunBroker

Open eBay in the left menu. The Settings tab is a checklist of nine steps in order. A finished step folds to one line and the next one opens. Click Edit on a finished step to change it. The line at the top counts the steps done.

  1. Connect your eBay account: click Connect to eBay, sign in to the eBay seller account this store will use, and allow access. eBay sends you back here. The connection lasts about 18 months; Connect to eBay again renews it.
  2. Set eBay business policies: eBay needs a shipping, a payment and a return policy. Set Handling days, pick No returns or 30 days, buyer pays return shipping, and click Create eBay policies. They are created on your eBay account and picked here: free UPS Ground in the United States and immediate payment. If you already have policies on eBay, pick them instead.
  3. Set the shipping location: click Use the store address. It is the address on Store Info & Surcharge, so fill that in first.
  4. Test the connection: click Test eBay connection. It checks that eBay accepts the account, the policies and the location. Nothing is listed or changed.
  5. Choose what to sell: Accessories we have in the store (store stock only), or These product groups, any stock and tick the groups (riflescopes, red dots, holsters, cases, slings, knives, apparel and more). Hold back (units) is how many fewer eBay shows than you have, so a store sale and an eBay sale at the same time cannot oversell. Most units shown caps the quantity eBay sees. Click Save selling choices.
  6. Set pricing rules: Markup over the website price (%) (0 means the website price plus eBay's fees), eBay final value fee (%), eBay per order fee ($), whether MAP items List at MAP with eBay's fee coming out of your margin, and Hold price drops over (%): a bigger drop waits for someone to look before it goes to eBay. Click Save pricing rules.
  7. Activate items to sell: click Open the Catalog and activate items, or let a listing rule pick them. See Pick what goes on eBay: the Catalog tab.
  8. Turn on eBay selling: the on and off switch. It stays off, and says what is missing, until steps 1 to 7 are done.
  9. Turn on automatic sync: with it on, every 30 minutes activated items go up, prices and quantities update and sold listings end, and every 10 minutes eBay sales come into Orders and tracking goes back. With it off, nothing changes on eBay until you click Send to eBay now or Import sales now.

Disconnect eBay account in step 1 breaks the link on our side and turns selling off. Nothing on eBay is changed.

Note: The eBay app keys under

Advanced platform settings

at the bottom of the page are set up by us. You do not need to change them. Changing the keys or the environment disconnects the eBay account and turns selling off.
