Blocking a distributor for a brand

Manufacturers set their own rules about who may sell and ship their products. Some will not allow drop shipping at all, and some you simply cannot buy from a particular distributor. Trinity lets you record this per brand, so the order page and automatic fulfillment never offer a source that will not work.

Where to find it

1. In your admin, open Shipping & FFL > Manufacturers. The page is called Manufacturer Settings.
2. Find the brand with the search box, or sort the list.
3. Click Edit on that brand's row. The Edit Manufacturer window opens.

If the brand will not drop ship from anyone

Turn off Allow dropship from distributors. The order page then marks that brand as no drop ship and points you to ship to store, whichever distributor you buy it from.

The same section has Reship surcharge ($ per item): a flat amount added to the price of every item from that brand, on your website and at the POS. It is there to cover the cost of reshipping from your store to the customer's dealer for brands that will not drop ship. Leave it at 0 for none.

If you cannot buy the brand from a particular distributor

Use Blocked Distributors. Tick each distributor you cannot buy this manufacturer from. A blocked distributor no longer shows as a source for that brand on your orders, and automatic fulfillment will not order the brand from it, drop ship or ship to store.

Only the distributors your store is set up with appear in the list.

Press Save Changes.
